Mac's Cider Range

Good Eats // Cider Cocktails Two Ways with Mac’s Cider

Mac's Cider Range

A new range of ciders has landed – Mac’s Cider – get ready to get your taste buds a work out!

Mac’s has extended their range of delicious beers by introducing a range of crafted ciders and there are four amazing flavours in the range; Cloudy Apple, Chilli & Lime, Blood Orange and Cardamom, Cranberry & Ginger.

Mac’s have also introduced a new flavour scale to help people choose a cider that best suits their tastes. The flavour scales runs from 1 / Quench for maximum refreshment through to 7 / Savour for an intense flavour.

Since Mac’s Cider are all about experimentation I thought I would take two of their ciders, along with their flavour scale rating and kick it up a notch to create two fantastic, easy and delicious cider cocktails! One perfect for autumn and the other perfect for the last afternoons in the summer sun.

Cider Cocktail Recipes - Mulled Blood Orange + Cardamom Cider

Mulled Blood Orange + Cardamom Cider
Serves Two – This warm cider cocktail will keep you warm on those autumn nights – it’s very easy and oh so delicious.

  • Mac’s Cider Blood Orange + Cardamom
  • 1 Orange, thinly sliced
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 2 teaspoons whole cloves

Combine the Blood Orange + Cardamom cider, orange slices, cinnamon sticks, and cloves in a large saucepan. On a medium heat bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and cook until the cider is fragrant, or about 20 minutes. Serve warm.

Spiked Cloudy Apple Cider Cocktails
Serves Two – This cocktail is perfect for these warm late summer afternoons where the sun is still hot and the breeze is just right.

  • Mac’s Cider Cloudy Apple
  • 1/4 cup Dark Rum
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1 Granny Smith Apple, peeled, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 Lemon, juiced

Mix together the cider, rum, and cinnamon sticks gently in a large pitcher. Add the apple cubes to a small bowl and toss them with the lemon juice. Thread the diced apples onto skewers. Pour the spiked cider into glasses filled with ice, then garnish with an apple skewer and serve.

Hope you enjoyed these two cocktail recipes – let me know how you get on if you make them!

      1. I too love mulled cocktails. In Covent Garden we bought mulled wine at Christmas time and they popped a scoop of ice cream into it. It was the weirdest yet most delicious thing I have ever tasted in my life.
