I help run the NZBloggers and #BRUNCHCLUB Facebook groups and networking events around NZ, and this weekend the first Hamilton #BRUNCHCLUB event was on. I, along with four other AUCKLAND bloggers, travelled down to Hamilton for it!
The brunch was at Two Birds Eatery in East Hamilton. When organising the event I asked a few local bloggers for suggestions and Two Birds Eatery came up! The menu looked delicious so organised the event right away. The team were super helpful beforehand letting me preorder meals to save time on the day.
Before we went down we met at Cali Press in Parnell, they opened the Parnell store today and had free smoothies to celebrate!
I tried their Le Chocolat smoothie which had banana, cacao, dates, almond butter and Vanilla Sky mylk, it was so chocolatey and a perfect start to my day.
At Two Birds I had the Scram Bam with bacon which had the softest scrambled eggs (so good), crispy kale, a spicy salsa and sourdough.

The food was delicious, super filling and pretty well presented (well, mine wasn’t but I’m not sure anyone can get scrambled eggs with salsa and kale looking decadent haha). I thoroughly enjoyed my food but, even more so (and more importantly) the company!
The Auckland bloggers that joined me were
- fellow NZBlogger organiser, Lena from Lena Talks, along with
- Georgie from Georgieats,
- Angela from A Style Collector and
- Rhiannon from In Rhi’s Pantry.
The Hamilton bloggers who came were
- Louise from Say Cheese Louise,
- Dane from Baker Gatherer,
- Amber from Quite Good Food and
- Kirstie from Class 22.
After brunch a few of us ventured over to Sama and Kiki, a plus size store in Calabasas Lane – Sarah is SO lovely and I bought a Hope & Harvest dress which will be great for work. TI grabbed this dress in Khaki.
We finished our day trip at Duck island ice cream where we enjoyed their ice cream in the park with the sun shining on us.
What a day! I loved it.
I got talking to Dane about organising a ‘hamilton day’ where we were down for a whole day to do some exploring which I am so excited by. I’d be really keen to hear your favourite Hamilton spots or must-see and do things in and around Hamilton because I am so keen to make it happen!
